Pauer Sound and Music opened their doors on Main Street in Aberdeen, SD on March 17^th of 1997.  The name is a combination of the original owners and founders.  Scott Sauer and Kevin Pleinis.  Both are musicians from the area and wanted to offer Aberdeen and surrounding areas a place for rentals, sales, advice, and installations of public address systems.  They also sold and serviced musical instruments.  Aside from Scott and Kevin being experts in their instruments and sound systems, the store also employed other area musicians and utilized their expertise in specific instruments and technology as well.  Pauer Sound originally offered lessons and shortly after opening they hosted live bands in a stage area they build in the back of the business.
